Near Protocol joins forces with Google Cloud to support Web3 developers

Google Cloud and Near Protocol have announced a new partnership that will provide infrastructure for Near's Web3 startup platform, Pagoda.

Near Protocol partners with Google Cloud to support Web3 devs

According to an announcement made on October 4, this collaboration will enable Google Cloud to provide "technical support" to Near grant recipients by providing infrastructure for Near's Remote Procedure Call node provider to Pagoda.

Near Protocol is a decentralised application (DApp) platform that focuses on developer and user usability. It uses sharding technology to achieve scalability and, like Ethereum, is a proof-of-stake blockchain with smart contracts.

Pagoda is a startup platform that was launched in February 2022 to provide Web3 developers building on Near with a full-stack toolset for building, launching, and maintaining their Web3 projects or DApps on the blockchain.

Carlos Arena, director of digital assets at Google Cloud, said in a statement that his company's infrastructure will allow Near developers to "build and scale," and that the company will continue to support "new products and services on blockchain-based platforms."

Google Cloud inked a similar partnership with Binance's smart contract blockchain platform BNB Chain in September, allowing startups building products and services on the BNB Chain blockchain to also build on Google Cloud's secure, scalable and open-source infrastructure.

In January, Google Cloud established a new digital assets team to support the development and evolution of the blockchain ecosystem. The digital asset team is dedicated to assisting Google Cloud customers in creating, trading, and launching new products on blockchain-based platforms.
