Keywords

Hazards of Google Algorithms in SEO practices: Penalty imposed by Google Algorithms for an improper and unethical SEO practice

  1. Duplicate content: Duplicate content is the content which is copied from other website and used in your own. Plagiarism is also penalised by Panda Algorithm.
  2. Thin Content: When a blog or website provides short or inadequate information on topics. The information given is of low quality(not useful); proper explanation regarding the topic is not provided and the context is half cooked and fact less.
  3. Backlink: Backlink is those link which points to your webpage externally form a different website. Backlink should be created on the platform that shares information on similar topics like your website or webpage or blog. For example, you own a gourmet(cooking related) website and wish to create a backlink, it should be created on a platform that shares information related to cooking, recipes of how to prepare a dish. Linking to a fashion or technology webpage will not do any good and is considered as malpractice.
  4. Link Spamming: When a link is posted over and over again in the same platform, it becomes the spammy link. Google penalises this and reduces the page ranking, which results in reduced traffic on your website.
  5. Over optimized anchor text: Anchor text is used to pass a link in the comment section of a website or blog. It happens when same anchor text is posted to various site reverting back to one singe common webpage. Google,s Penguin Algorithm negatively rank the website on this situation.
  6. Keyword Stuffing:  When a webpage is overflown by the use of keyword i.e the use of keyword exceeds the keyword density; then the situation is called keyword stuffing. For example, one use keyword "digital marketing" and covey information on it but to rank higher the term "digital marketing" is used 12 times in a paragraph of 350 words; this scenario comes keyword stuffing case and website rank is negatively impacted.
  7. Poor User Experience: Poor design of the user interface result user to go back to the search page without going through the entire webpage, it increases the bounce rate and affects the page ranking negatively.
  8. Link Spam: Posting an irrelevant link, out of context link, garbage link(ads, link shortener website) to the various website, discussion forums in order to increase the web traffic.
How to improve page rank?

  • Internal linking of webpage i.e. a link which points to another page on the same website.
